The site's vegetation features an interspersion of bamboo and cane forests alongside deciduous and evergreen flora, contributing to the area's biodiversity and ecological health.

Architectural Form

The design features proportionately graded introvert volumes for science installations. This architectural form not only serves functional purposes but also enhances the aesthetic appeal of the centre.

Contextual Design

The architectural image derives context from the surrounding environment, employing a play of volumes, light, and shadow. This design strategy enhances the visitor experience and complements the natural landscape.

Contemporary Design Details

Cohesion with Environment

Division of Science Centre

The Science Centre is broadly divided into four key areas:

  • Exhibit Development Laboratory and office

Proximity to Water

Positioned on the eastern side of the site, the Gomati River plays a crucial role in the layout. The proposed Nature Park is located on the northern side, further enhancing the ecological context of the science centre.

Path Network Integration

The existing path network has been utilized and integrated into the proposed layout, providing entrances to the main exhibition halls and a subsidiary entrance for the auditorium and children's activity centre.

Parking Arrangement

To ensure a clear visual aesthetic, two-wheeler parking has been proposed in one corner of the site, eliminating visual obstruction of the main building. This thoughtful placement enhances the overall site experience.

Flood Preparedness

Recognizing the flood risk posed by the proximity to the Gomati River, adequate space has been left near the riverfront to accommodate potential flooding during monsoons, ensuring the safety and accessibility of the science centre.
